Heavy Rain & Winds Coming Toward South Dakota, Iowa, & Minnesota
I hope you like severe weather on a Monday to start your week.
Be ready for a major storm system heading towards parts of South Dakota, Iowa, and Minnesota as early as Monday afternoon (June 2nd).

Details are still unfolding about the strength potential of this new storm system heading toward parts of the Sioux Empire. However, the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls explains that a cold front will not only drop temperatures, but also "quickly develop and intensify" possible storms during the mid-to-late afternoon.
Our friends at the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls say the Sioux Empire on Monday afternoon could experience large hail and possibly damaging winds. But that's just the beginning for this spring storm.
Pockets of heavy rain and a potential for storms repeatedly moving over the same area will also bring a threat of localized flash flooding, mainly in urban areas. If you have outdoor plans Monday afternoon and evening, stay weather aware! Have multiple ways to receive warnings and be prepared to quickly seek shelter.
How bad will the storms be across the Sioux Falls area?
At the time of this post, experts at the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls are predicting that Sioux Falls is at a "slight risk" of severe weather. This would be considered a Level 2 threat. After 3 PM will be the best chance to see heavy rainfall.
Monday will be a very hot one. When combined with humidity, it's essential to stay hydrated if you're outside.
