Neighbors Make GoFundMe For South Dakota Bowling Alley After Fire
It's been a tough time for local Dell Rapids, South Dakota bowling alley. But it's during difficult moments when the Sioux Empire comes together.
Last week, a fire completely devastated the PINZ-Dell Rapids alley. Since then, communities across South Dakota have been supporting the PINZ-Dell Rapids family in more ways then one.

The Dell Rapids Fire Department confirmed the building was a "total loss." To help owner Casey McCoy and all with PINZ-Dell Rapids with cost, friends have set up a GoFundMe page.
This fund is to help Casey McCoy cover the costs of immediate needs, lost income, supporting staff and to give them the breathing room to decide on the future of a place that has meant so much to so many.If PINZ ever gave you a good memory, this is a chance to give something back. Every donation, no matter the size, helps. And if you can’t give, please share this and keep the family in your prayers
This place has been a "more joy, laughter, friendship, and community." Right now, the goal is to raise around $16,000 for PINZ-Dell Rapids.
Casey McCoy also gave an update in a Facebook post on what PINZ-Dell Rapids will look like going forward. The good news? There is a "clear path forward" for PINZ-Dell Rapids.
Casey McCoy admits that the last "seven days have been some of the hardest of my (his) life." But he has felt all the love and compassion from all of Dell Rapids and the surrounding neighborhoods.
When tragedy struck on Thursday, I felt defeated in a way I have never experienced before. But with every text, phone call, donation, hug, prayer, and word of encouragement, that feeling slowly turned into acceptance, hope, and healing.
I kept asking God, "Why me? Why my family?" The answer I keep coming back to is simple: God never promised life would be easy. He simply promised we wouldn't face it alone. And we haven't.One thing this week that has been made abundantly clear, is how fortunate we are that no one was hurt. Had circumstances been even slightly different, the outcome could have been far worse. That reality is something I will never take for granted.

The plan is rebuild PINZ-Dell Rapids. See the full announcement and details here.
It is still a blessing that no was hurt and everyone is safe. The next chapter for PINZ-Dell Rapids will take time, but it will be back stronger than ever thanks to all the support from communities across the Sioux Empire.
