We're barely into 2026, and already the list of businesses closing in Sioux Falls is growing.

Glacial Lakes Distillery & Brewhouse in Downtown Sioux Falls has made the shocking announcement that it is closing in February.

When Is Glacial Lakes Distillery & Brewhouse Closing For Good?

In a heartfelt message on Facebook, owners of Glacial Lakes Distillery & Brewhouse explain that the Brewhouse of Glacial Lakes Distillery is closing on Monday, February 2nd. But in light of this difficult news, the distillery itself will continue.

To everyone we’ve met along the way — thank you. Thank you for the memories, the laughter, the celebrations, the late nights, and the community you helped create here. You will be deeply missed. Our hope has always been that every person left a little better than when they arrived — whether with a great memory, a good time, or simply someone willing to listen. While this chapter is ending, Glacial Lakes Distillery itself will continue operating. Unfortunately, in the current economic climate, we’re no longer able to sustainably maintain our downtown Brewhouse location

The Sioux Falls community is sad to see the Glacial Lakes Distillery & Brewhouse close up shop in downtown.

Noooooo!!!! This breaks my heart!!!

No...I literally love this place. So sad to see you guys go.

So sad to hear, but wow have I loved going to have a drink there and play some games. A true gem to have a date night

I enjoyed visiting Glacial Lakes Distillery & Brewhouse with my husband. We were just here for Burger Battle, too.

Glacial Lakes Distillery & Brewhouse will be missed in Sioux Falls, cheers!

Gone But Not Forgotten - Iconic Sioux Falls: Whiffer's Sandwiches

The Merriam-Webster definition of iconic is "widely recognized and well-established." That would definitely describe Whiffer's Sandwiches which used to call North Minnesota Avenue home.

The gone but not forgotten sandwich shop was located in an old house at 1133 North Minnesota Avenue. It served sandwiches to Sioux Falls from November 1978 until the summer of 2020.
