Gender Optional: No More Homecoming King, Queen
The world continues to change. Gender seems to becoming more and more optional this day and age.
There used to be a hard line drawn for one person to be a king and another person to be the queen. Each of course had their own physical qualifications naturally.
However, there is a major change at the University of Minnesota. When they celebrate their homecoming now, there will no longer be a "King" or "Queen". Those two names will be dropped. And both chosen individuals will be referred to as "Royals."
And in addition to the title change, gender will be optional. It won't necessarily be one male and one female anymore.
The school argues that the change will allow their diverse student body to be better recognized at homecoming. So I take from this, no matter what you are, you can be royalty.
