Garth Brooks will be performing a brand-new song at the 2018 CMA Awards -- so new, in fact, that (almost) no one has heard it yet. The country star shared a few hints about the tune during his Monday night (Nov. 5) Inside Studio G Facebook Live chat.

Brooks hasn't revealed the title of his CMA Awards performance song, but he did give a hint: the initials "S.T.M." He says he calls the song "Trisha's Song," but that she has not heard it yet. The unnamed song will be a single and be sent to country radio the day after the CMAs.

Brooks was announced as a 2018 CMA Awards performer on Thursday (Nov. 1), joining Jason Aldean with Miranda LambertThomas Rhett, Kelsea BalleriniOld Dominion and more in the lineup. Originally, Brooks had asked to perform this song -- a ballad "about the strength of a woman," which he cut a couple of months ago -- and, he says, the CMAs said no.

"I went to the CMAs and said, 'Let me sing that song to her that night. She hasn't heard it, and she won't until that moment. Nobody will.' They came back and said, 'Hey, look, something new that's a ballad probably doesn't work for us,'" Brooks shared during a press conference in October. "So, cool. I'll find some other way for her to hear it."

Brooks is the reigning CMA Awards Entertainer of the Year -- he won in 2016 and 2017 -- but is not nominated at this year's awards. Even so, he says he's expecting it to "be a great night."

"The fact that I'm not nominated for Entertainer is gonna make it a much more fun night for me, to just sit and relax and enjoy all the acts," he says. "I get to go with the love of my life and my best friend. We'll get all dressed up, and probably go to Taco Bell afterward."

The 2018 CMA Awards are scheduled to air on ABC on Nov. 14, at 8PM ET; the ceremony will take place live at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood will host the ceremony for the 11th year in a row.
