Family Day at the Farm
Nom Nom Gardens, located just south of Sioux Falls, will be the backdrop for Family Day at the Farm.
Family Day at the Farm is hosted by Equality South Dakota, Sioux Falls Pride, and the Transformation Project Advocacy Network. They invite everyone out for some fun at the farm on Sunday, October 17th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
This event is to help raise funds and awareness for the aforementioned organizations, but also to give families the chance to enjoy farm activities.
Events that day include:
- Pumpkin carving and decorating
- Animal interactions- remember to be gentle
- Refreshments- hot apple cider and popcorn
Shane Fischer will also be there to write custom poetry! All you have to do is give Shane a few details and he will type you up your very own personalized poem!
There will also be opportunities to meet one on one with board members or volunteers from Equality South Dakota, Sioux Falls Pride, and The Transformation Project. Learn more about volunteering and how to take action.
According to the Family Day at the Farm's Facebook event page, "Donations from refreshments, poems, and more help support Equality South Dakota’s mission across the state. Make sure to drop a few dollars in our donation jars! Every dollar raised at Family Day at the Farm will be used to fuel our fight to defend the rights and well-being LGBTQ+ folks and their families in South Dakota."
The farm is ADA accessible. Masks are recommended and will be provided free of charge.
Any other questions about the event, feel free to email info@eqsd.org.
