    The turkey is in the fridge thawing, you have a game plan for Thursday, it's time to chill out with the family at a Skyforce game. The Sioux Falls Skyforce are home at the Sanford Pentagon on Tuesday night. They host the Austin Spurs.

  • Winter Wonderland

    Nightly through January 8, 2017 - 6:00 PM

    Take the family to Falls Park to see Winter Wonderland. Thousands of dazzling holiday lights and holiday music fill the park.

    Winter Wonderland features more than one mile of garland, 400 wreaths, 270 decorated trees, 275 decorated light poles, more than 25 miles of lights strings, rope lights, and multiple animated lighted features.

    To get a really good look at Winter Wonderland, check out the five-story tower in the Visitor Information Center to catch a 360-degree view.

    The Visitor Information Center will be open through January 8, 2017 from 5:00 - 9:00 PM Monday through Thursday, 5:00 - 10:00 PM Friday, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM Saturday, and 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM Sunday.

    If you have health nuts in your family who refuse to let a big, stuffed turkey get in their way of exercising, then they should take part in the Run for Food.

    The run starts at The Banquet, 900 E. 8th Street, at 8:00 AM on Thanksgiving morning. This is a no-T-shirt, no-clock, no-frills fun run.  Choose from 1 mile, 5K, or 10K routes. Walkers are welcome! A suggested donation of $10 per participant will be accepted.

    Fresh baked apple and pumpkin pies will be available to purchase for your Thanksgiving Dinner for a suggested donation of $10.

    Dazzling lighted holiday floats and music will flood historic Phillips Avenue from 13th Street to 5th Street. The 25th Annual Parade of Lights presented by CenturyLink is the official start to the downtown holiday season!

    An after party and awards ceremony featuring live music and holiday cheer will be held at the Holiday Inn City Centre.

    After a long day of shopping unwind at a Sioux Falls Stampede hockey game at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. The Herd host the Tri-City Storm.

    Friday night is the Teddy Bear Toss. Bring a new stuffed animal to the game and toss it onto the ice after the Stampede score their first goal! All stuffed animals will be collected and donated to hospitals and charitable organizations around Sioux Falls for the holidays.

It's a 5K run/walk with proceeds benefiting the Arthritis Foundation. Wear a holiday-themed costume. Tie jingle bells to your shoelaces. Show off your ugly Christmas sweater.

    It's Family Night at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. Get four tickets to the Stampede game, four hot dogs and four soft drinks for just $49.

    The Sioux Falls Stampede host Team USA. Bring your skates to the game and skate with your favorite players for 30 minutes after the game. Some players will even sign autographs.
