RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — The driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal crash on a Pennington County road south of Rapid City has been charged with vehicular homicide.

The Rapid City Journal reports that 19-year-old Jacobi Branich appeared in court Tuesday but did not enter a plea. It wasn't clear if he had obtained an attorney.

Authorities allege that Branich was driving drunk early Tuesday when he lost control of his pickup and the vehicle rolled in the ditch. A 19-year-old female passenger was killed, and the five other people in the vehicle including Branich suffered minor injuries.

The Highway Patrol didn't immediately identify the woman who died.
