Dozer was waiting for his "fur-ever" home at the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society for 155 days. It's still puzzling for staff why this sweet pup was overlooked for so long. But then again, waiting for the perfect family was worth all the heartbreak and tears for those who loved Dozer.

You can tell Dozer was a favorite among staff, volunteers, and friends of the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. When he got adopted, it was a big moment for everyone. Dozer looks so happy with his new family!

There's no question about it. Dozer is where he belongs. It was meant to be.

155 days of waiting, hoping, and watching people walk by while wondering if today would be his turn.
Then someone saw him.
There were many tears as staff, volunteers, and fosters said goodbye.
But they were the happiest tears.
He loved every single person he met here. Every hello, every walk, every moment of attention meant everything to him.
Loved. Chosen. Finally, where he belongs.

The Sioux Empire couldn't be happier for Dozer and his new family.

I am in tears! I am so beyond happy for Dozer! Live your best life buddy!

From Blockbusters to Hidden Gems: 35 Movies That Take Place in South Dakota

When it comes to South Dakota and Hollywood, we've seen our fair share of films that have used our state as the backdrop for a number of productions over the years. They may not have always filmed here, but movie folk love to set stories here.

We're all familiar with the blockbusters like 1990's Dances With Wolves, 1959's North By Northwest, and more recently, 2007's National Treasure: Book of Secrets. But our state's life on the big screen goes back nearly 100 years.

According to IMDb, it all started with Courtin' Wildcats, a 1929 film which, like so many of the films on this list, is a Western set in the time before South Dakota became a state in 1889.
