Minnesota Singer Stuns ‘Idol’ With Surprising Disney Performance
Chris Tungseth of Fergus Falls, Minnesota, has been living his dream on Season 24 of American Idol.
Disney Night on American Idol is full of magical surprises, including from our favorite Minnesota singer.

Before this Minnesota kid took on his solo Disney song, Chris joined his friends to perform "You've Got a Friend in Me" from Toy Story.
Chris had another mentor in his corner this week. Legendary Idol "royalty," youngest female EGOT Winner, and guest judge Jennifer Hudson spent one-on-one time with Chris and the other Top 9 American Idol finalists.
Jennifer Hudson said, "Chris blew her completely away," her away as he practiced "Let It Go" from Disney's Frozen. She loved Chris' voice!
"To take a big Disney ballad and then bring rock and country to it?"
Her biggest advice? Work the stage, and it's okay to be uncomfortable.
Chris let out his inner "Hercules or Tarzan" thanks to Jennifer Hudson.
The audience was feeling this new, modern twist of this iconic Disney tune. Carrie Underwood even gave him a standing ovation.
"Chris, I'm really proud of you. I feel like that is the most we have seen you emote. You seem like you were having fun...It's like she (Jennifer Hudson) was saying, 'If you're uncomfortable, we're going to be uncomfortable..' And you kind of seemed like you were letting go a little bit. And I would like to see more of that."
Jennifer Hudson was proud of her "Teddy Bear!"
Did Chris Do Enough To Make It In The Top 7 Of American Idol?
This was a tough night because the competition is really tight. Good news: His risks paid off. Chris is officially in the Top 7!
You can watch this season of American Idol on Mondays at 7 PM on KSFY. Don't stop now, Chris! Time to get ready for Taylor Swift Night. Can't wait to see which Taylor Swift song you'll sing next week.
