Demons Resurface for Once Acquitted Sioux Falls Teen
A Sioux Falls teenager, who in January was found not guilty of murdering another teenager, is behind bars again. Conner Hanson was arrested Monday morning for a domestic assault on his girlfriend.
Police say Hanson and his girlfriend were arguing this morning around 7:30 a.m. at their apartment at 708 W. Rice Street.
Police say Hanson hit and pushed her. He then forced his way into a bathroom when she tried to get away. He left briefly but then returned and hit her several times again.
He left the second time when a friend of the victim called police.
Hanson was found near 2nd St. and Prairie Ave. where he was arrested for simple assault domestic.
On January 20, a jury found Conner Hanson not guilty on all charges in the shooting death of 18-year-old Anthony Gabriel near the Empire Mall January of 2015.
Hanson faced six charges, including first- and second-degree murder and manslaughter.
Defense attorney Jeff Larson claimed Hanson acted in self-defense and that Gabriel was the aggressor and controlled the situation.
Hanson is expected to be in court on assault charges Tuesday.
