DEADWOOD, S.D. (AP) - Revenue from gaming in Deadwood is down for the third month in a row.

Total gross revenues for April 2013 were $7.9 million. This is down 6 percent from $8.4 million in April 2012.

The handle, or total money wagered, for April 2013 decreased 5 percent, or roughly $5 million, compared to April 2012.

George Milos is the executive director of the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce. He says Deadwood casinos are still feeling the effects of a sluggish economy. Bad weather in April and the closure of the Gold Dust Casino also affected numbers.

Tom Nelson with the Deadwood Gaming Association says April's decline concern him. But both Nelson and Milos remain hopeful gaming numbers will rebound.
