Country Star Rodney Crowell Teaches British Actor To Yodel For ‘I Saw The Light’

(AP) - British actor Tom Hiddleston had never yodeled before he was cast as Hank Williams in the film "I Saw The Light."

It was Rodney Crowell's job to teach him how to do it. Crowell demonstrated and told Hiddleston to just give himself permission to let it go. Crowell says Hiddleston got pretty close on his first attempt.

Crowell says he agreed to help with the movie as long as it was a real depiction of Williams and not a love letter to anybody. He says the film is "a true note about what is really country music's first rock-and-roll star."

"I Saw The Light" is out now.
