I remember our first visit to Costco when the store opened in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It was exciting to say the least.

I saw big screen televisions that would require a wall removal at my house. I held a package that contained one steak that would feed the entire family.

The savings opportunities where countless. It involved many things that I use.

Large quantities were the norm. I've yet to figure out who would buy that large of a jar of pickles.

After checking out the store, I found myself at the customer service desk signing up for a membership. In the process I learned that I couldn't use my VISA credit card in the store.

Because it's the only card I have, I then decided to not become a member.

Now Costco will switch to accepting VISA cards instead of American Express. The change takes place June 20.
