Chris Young has said that he'll be releasing new music "sooner than you think" -- and on Wednesday (Nov. 14), he gave his fans a sneak peek. In a tweet, the country star shared a snippet of a new song, "Raised on Country."

In a video posted to Twitter, Young -- in the studio -- tells fans, "I never, ever play anything early, at all, but I'm gonna break tradition a little bit 'cause I'm so pumped about this one." The song he then shares is an upbeat track that name-drops, among others, Merle Haggard and George Strait.

"I was raised on Merle / Raised on Willie / Got my honky-tonk attitude from Joe Diffie / Daddy did too, it's family tradition," Young sings in "Raised on Country." "When someone cranks it up, you can't help listen / My upbringing sounds like George Strait singin' / And I've gotta give props to the radio / 'Cause if you know me, I was raised on country."

In October, Young told The Boot that he's "been in the studio constantly," and was "really excited" about the new music he's been working on. Further details about his next project have yet to be announced, however.

Young's most recent single, "Hangin' On," recently became his 11th No. 1 single. The song is his fifth consecutive No. 1 song, following "I’m Comin’ Over," "Think of You," "Sober Saturday Night" and "Losing Sleep."
