In honor of Holy Week, American Idol welcomed viewers to join in "Songs of Faith" night. Contestants performed their favorite spiritual and inspirational songs for their first live performance. Chris Tungseth showed his heart on stage with his rendition of "Bye Your Grace" from Cody Johnson
"A big old reminder of why we loved you in your audition."
"Your voice is just so special and unique."
This Minnesota kid clearly has a special place in all of the judge's hearts. Luke Bryan himself was left speechless after Chris' moving performance. Luke Bryan loves seeing Chris peel back new layers of his talents every time he hits the stage.
Your audition, we heard things that just showed so much promise and you've been giving them to us the whole time. But just little bitty snippets of them. Well, that song was like you from top to bottom. And that's what we want from you and that's the vision we saw.
So Does Chris Tungseth Make The Top 12 on 'American Idol?'
Leave it to host Ryan Seacrest to leave America on a cliffhanger. Since there were "tens of millions of votes" coming in, American Idol wants to make sure every vote is counted. So, we'll have to wait and see if American is keeping Chris Tungseth's dreams alive.
