‘Magical’ American Idol Run Continues On For Minnesota Singer

America was left with a cliff-hanger last week as they were cheering on their favorite Minnesota singer on Season 24 of American Idol.

Minnesota's own Chris Tungseth made it into the Top 14 to deliver a powerful live performance on American Idol last Monday night (March 30th). But his mission was to make it into the Top 12.

Did Chris Tungseth Do Enough To Represent Minnesota in the Top 12 of American Idol?

American Idol Host Ryan Seacrest started the show by saying how it was "truly unprecedented" at how "fast and furious" the millions of votes came in. So producers decided to hold off until last night's episode (April 6th). So did Chris Tungseth make it to another live show?

Good news for the Sioux Empire: The Fergus Falls, Minnesota native did enough to make it into the Top 12 of American Idol!

90's Judges Song Contest Night, where Judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie picked the song the contestants performed. Chris was given the song "I'll Be" from Edwin McCain, and the judge who picked it for him was...Carrie Underwood.

I thought he did a good job with this song.

Overall, the crowd enjoyed his performance. However, American Idol Judges like Carrie Underwood heard some nerves in his voice.

I could just hear your voice on that one. It was really interesting to me. I'll be super honest. I felt like there were some really magical moments in there and I felt like there were a few like not so great moments in there...But the magical moments were really magical.

Lionel Richie encourages this Minnesota kid to take risks...don't play it safe.

You have an identifiable voice. But you need to experiment with it more. Don't be safe. I know it feels good to be safe. But don't be safe if you get passed this.

So did Chris risk it enough to get America's vote for the second time in one night? Yes, he did! This Minnesota kid still has fight in him.
