Brookings Airport to Close for Runway Realignment
BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) — The Brookings Regional Airport will be closed for four days next week to allow for work on a runway realignment project.
City officials tell the Associated Press that the airport will begin the construction project at 7 a.m. Monday. Work is expected to continue through Thursday.
The city over the past year and a half has been purchasing parcels of land to allow for the realignment. Much of the land costs have been covered by federal funding.
