BREAKING: Harold Reid of the Statler Brothers Passes Away

Harold Reid, one of the founding members of the Statler Brothers, has died at the age of 80. The group announced the devastating news on its website Friday night.

According to the Statler Brothers' website, Harold "had bravely endured a long battle with kidney failure. He is and will always be loved by his family, friends and millions of fans. His singing, his songwriting and his comedy made generations happy. He has taken a piece of our hearts with him."

The Statler Brothers entered the country music scene in 1964 as backup vocals for Johnny Cash.  Around the same time, the Statler Brothers recorded their first hit record, "Flowers On The Wall" and even became regular guests on "The Johnny Cash Show."

Some of the group's other hit records include "Class of 57'," "I'll Go to My Grave Loving You," and "Bed of Rose's."

On Monday, "Andy and Christine In The Morning" will honor Harold Reid by playing a Statler Brothers' classic every hour.
