A Forgotten (And Great!) Country Music Duo: David Frizzell And Shelly West
One is the brother of a country music legend. The other is the daughter of a country music legend. And together, David Frizzell and Shelly West made beautiful country music!
While maybe not as top-of-the-mind famous as George and Tammy, Conway and Loretta or Porter and Dolly, through the first half of the 1980's it wasn't easy to find a radio station that wasn't playing David and Shelly. In fact their debut single 'You're The Reason God Made Oklahoma' went straight to the top of the country music chart, and remakins to this day one of the greatest country music duet's ever.
With David being the younger brother of country legend Lefty Frizzell, and Shelly being the daughter of country music legend Dottie West, I'm the pressure was on for these two artist's to prove their worth! And boy, did they ever. Take a trip back a few years (Ok, Ok, a few decades) and enjoy again one of the great classic country songs.
