The South Dakota Department of Tourism has recognized 143 South Dakota businesses and organizations for their outstanding customer service with a Great Service Star designation.

“Our state is renowned for its friendly people and the warm welcome we give to our visitors. Great service is what drives repeat visitation and word-of-mouth marketing about our state,” said James Hagen, Secretary of the South Dakota Department of Tourism. “The Great Service Star program encourages the continued development of skills and techniques that make South Dakota stand apart from other states.”

The Great Service Star Program is designed to recognize businesses that develop and complete hospitality training programs for their staff, reward employees for offering great service, and find unique ways to show customer appreciation. Those that meet the criteria are awarded a star symbol from the Department of Tourism to show their commitment to great service.

Eight Sioux Falls businesses and organizations received the award.

  • AAA South Dakota
  • AeroStay Hotel
  • Best Western PLUS Ramkota Hotel and Convention Center
  • ClubHouse Hotel and Suites
  • Falls Park Visitor Information Center
  • Good Earth State Park at Blood Run, SD Game, Fish and Parks
