5 Most Recent UFO Sightings in South Dakota
In February, scientists discovered a nearby solar system with seven planets about the size of earth, which could be good sites to focus on in a search for alien life.
Well, we might not have to focus on other planets to find alien life, because those aliens could be visiting us. Maybe.
According to the National UFO Reporting Center, UFO sightings around the world are at an all-time high. In fact, there were 24 reported sightings in South Dakota alone in the past year!
The national database can also be searched by state, and we found the last 5 UFO sightings in South Dakota. The contributors wished to remain anonymous.
February 18, 2017 in Sioux Falls:
We saw very bright round shape in the sky west and slightly north, too large and too bright to be a star. It did not move for at least 15 min that we kept watching. 20 min later when we went out again, it was gone." - anonymous
February 13, 2017 in Alcester, SD:
My husband and I noticed a beam on front window. He looked out to see if there was a car outside. There was no vehicle. He noticed lights to the east in the shelter belt. He noticed 8 lights on top and 10 little lights on the bottom. The object was a sphere and lasted 30 minutes."
January 18, 2017 in Brandon, SD:
Object has been staying in one spot over extended period multiple colored lights, does not appear to be a star, plane, or helicopter. Has been viewed by several people through binoculars."
December 23, 2016 in Aberdeen, SD
Out walking at about 21:00 in Aberdeen, SD, I saw a very bright orange, firey light moving across the sky from easy to west at about 45 degrees above the horizon. There was no "tail" behind the object, which was much brighter than any plane I have ever seen, certainly much brighter than a star or meteor, and roughly ovular in shape (so bright that shape was hard to determine). The object was silent. The object moved at a seemingly high rate of speed before slowing and starting to fade, though it would pulsate a bit while fading. Eventually the momentum stopped altogether and the light faded out while stationary. I observed this for about 3 minutes between first looking up and noticing the light, and when it faded completely from sight."
October 10, 2016 Hot Springs, SD
I came outside on my front porch to get some fresh air and I look at the hills which I usually do cause there beautiful and I seen three different colored lights flying in all directions very fast above Battle Mountain I was home alone so I drove to my friends house to try to show him I had to go by a building where I lost sight for awhile by the time I got to my friend s they were gone."
Even if you're skeptical about unidentified flying object sightings, looking at the backlog of local reports is quite interesting.
