3 Reasons to Checkout Poetry Open Mic This Weekend
This Saturday night in Sioux Falls another round of one of my favorite creative artist outlets to take in is happening again in Sioux Falls.
The popularity of open mic poetry in Sioux Falls has grown so much The Full Circle Book Co-op is now offering two open mics each month.
From co-owner Jason Kurtz:
"We are thrilled at the support and excitement of the poetry community, and the numbers are growing every week. We have added a second Beer and Poetry event every month, and our more casual 'round table' poetry events every Tuesday at 730 are well attended, usually seeing 12-20 people weekly."
Here are 3 reasons if you need a few to get you downtown and in a seat for a poetic treat.
1. It's Going to Be Freezing This Weekend!
We have a chance to experience some record breaking cold this weekend, and taking in the open mic is one way to avoid the cabin fever!
2. It's Budget Friendly
With a suggested donation of $5 you can't really go wrong with this amount of artistic entertainment at that price.
3.You Should Consider Signing Up
Sometimes it takes borrowing a little courage from other people until we can find our own. Some people want to hop on an open mic, but haven't been able to muster up the courage to go through with it yet. Come watch people do their thing, share their hearts and their art. The more you watch the more likely it is to help you hop up there yourself.
The next poetry open mic at Full Circle Book Co-op is Saturday, March 2nd, and you want to get on the mic or get a seat to take in the art I'd recommend getting there early.
