I love watching classic TV shows. My wife says I watch too much classic TV.

She may be right. But, quite frankly, I think the best TV shows were made in the 1960's and 1970's.

The original Star Trek TV series is among for big list of favorites. I think the most interesting thing about watching it today is, what appeared to be far out stuff back when the show was new, now either looks normal or even outdated.

What was a futuristic looking device that they flipped open to communicate with each other, now looks like an old style cell phone. But back in the 60's it appeared pretty far fetched.

The computers on the tables in the Enterprise once looked like something from our imagination. Now they look like a monitor we once had on our desk 15 years ago before flat screens.

I think the world mostly caught up and surpassed Star Trek, with the exception of the beaming people around thing. We haven't invented that yet, but I'm sure someone is looking into it as you read this.

I enjoy watching the original Star Trek TV series episodes every Saturday night at 8 o'clock on ME-TV, Memorable Entertainment Television.

Of course the main character is Captain Kirk, played by William Shatner. Shatner starred in the role during it's run on TV from 1966 to 1969. He also was the star in the later motion pictures that were made.

One would think that he would treasure watching the shows that made him famous. But shockingly enough, Shatner says he's never watched a single episode because he doesn't feel comfortable watching himself.

He did have to view some footage from Star Trek V during filming because he was directing himself. He says it was very unpleasant for him.
