Over the weekend I watched 'The Sons Of Katie Elder' starring John Wayne.

Man, that guy was one great Western movie actor!  Watching John Wayne strut (yes, he strutted, he didn't walk.  Other normal Cowboys walked!) across Main Street from the Sheriff's Office to the Saloon.  Wow! There couldn't be any greater Western actor than the Duke!

But then I switched channel's.  And there was Clint Eastwood in 'Pale Rider' followed by 'Unforgiven'. Clint didn't so much strut as silently look the bad guy in the eye and...well, you know the rest.  Let's just say you didn't want to get on Clint's bad side in the Old West.  So it was settled.  Clint Eastwood is the greatest Western actor ever!

But what about 'Rio bravo'? 'The Shootist'? Well, I guess it's John Wayne then.

But you also had all those spaghetti Westerns Clint was in.  He didn't even have a name and he was one bad (good?) Dude!  So it's Clint, right?

Hmm.  What do you think? John Wayne or Clint Eastwood?

Who is the greatest of these two as far as Westerns?
