Rare Video of Randy Travis First Time on TV
Randy Travis brought us a whole new sound in country music during the 1980's. Or did he?
To me, when I first heard him, it took me back to the sound of some traditional artists from the good ole' days.
I knew it was a new guy and a new song, but the sound was the real deal for once. The first song I heard him do was "On The Other Hand".
Randy would rack up 16 number one hits over time. His career was halted in 2013 when he suffered a stroke and nearly died.
We were very pleased when we learned that Randy Travis was going to be inducted into The Country Music Hall Of Fame.
Watch this video of Randy's first appearance on TV. It's from a late night TNN show from 1983 at the Nashville Palace where Randy worked as a cook and also performed.
