Rapid City Man Sentenced in Federal Court for Escape

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — A Rapid City man has been sentenced in federal court for escaping from a minimum-security facility last year.

Twenty-seven-year-old Eric Ladeaux pleaded guilty in February to escape. U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says Ladeaux has been sentenced to two years in custody and three years of supervised release.

Ladeaux was serving out a federal prison sentence for a weapons crime when he left the Community Alternatives of the Black Hills facility in September 2012 and did not return as required. He led federal, state and local officers on a chase in early November of that year and got away but was tracked down two days later and arrested.
