Winter is not wanting to let go. Just when we thought we were finally done with it, another punch is coming Tuesday.

Many schools in western South Dakota are shut down or starting classes late because of wintry weather.

National Weather Service reports show that several inches of snow have fallen in the Black Hills. A winter storm warning is posted for the region into Tuesday evening, with a few more inches expected. Some areas could get a total accumulation of a foot of snow.

A storm warning also is in effect for northeastern South Dakota, with 4-7 inches of snow and gusty winds in the forecast.

A winter weather advisory is posted for southwest and southeast South Dakota, with a few inches of snow expected.

Sioux Falls is under a winter weather advisory until 1am Wednesday. Around three inches of snow is expected with winds gusting to 35mph.
