I guess there are two things I love about working in country music radio. After over 40 years in the 'business', I still love:

1) The classic country artists and legends. If i can crank up some Hag, Willie, Waylon, any of the Hank's or maybe Loretta, Dolly or Tammy, I am 'good to good, Cowboy'!

and 2) Finding newer artists who are keeping it real country. I love me the music of Teea Goans, Monte Good, Mo Pitney, Zane Williams and others. And now I add to that list a young artist named William Michael Morgan.

Who? I know, I know, I was the same way. A song came across my desk called 'I Met A Girl'. Now, along with my, uh, advanced age comes along a healthy dose of skepticism. Is this another of the artists that has rehashed the rock and roll of the 1980's and pass it off as country?

Nope. At least as far as this single, this guy is the real (country) deal. So who is this William Michael Morgan? I went to his Facebook page to find out and found this:

William Michael is a rising new talent out of Vicksburg, Mississippi. His booming and traditional vocals are representative of what the history of Country Music has been all about. He has been singing and writing music since he was a kid and his stage presence already echoes that of a seasoned professional.

At just 21 years of age, William Michael has just signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and a recording contract with Warner Brothers Nashville. He is currently writing and recording music for his debut album which will be produced by Jimmy Ritchey & Scott Hendricks.

William Michael is paving the way to be one of Country Music biggest stars in 2015!

So give this a listen and see what you think. And thanks William Michael for keeping it real country...and real good country!
