Often new music will come across my desk or on my computer.  Most of the time it's from artist's I'm not familiar with, artist's that aren't on the national country chart's, artist's that aren't being played by mainstream country music station's, either because they don't have a familiar name, or more probably they are 'too country' for country radio.  Of course, at KXRB and KXRB.com, you can't be 'too country', you can only be 'too rock'.

Recently I had the pleasure of hearing an album called 'The Human Condition' by an artist named Valerie Smith.  And am I glad i took the time to listen!  You see, by listening and looking for 'real' country music, you find it's out there.  It's how we at KXRB discovered great music by artist's like Teea Goans, Gord Bamford, Mary Sarah and others.  New artist's (at least to me!) that are keeping it country.

Hailing from the 'Show Me' state of Missouri, Valerie keeps it country...and bluegrass...and folk...and, well, name a genre' and you might find it with her music!  If variety is the spice of life, this ladies music is spicy, and in a good way!

Be listening for Valerie's music on KXRB and KXRB.com, song's like this updated remake of the Buck owens classic 'Just As Long As You Live Me'.

And keep the fiddle comin' Valerie!
