Edmunds County Commissioner Posts White Supremacy Symbol

IPSWICH, S.D. (AP) — An Edmunds County commissioner who posted a white supremacy symbol on Facebook says he didn't realize what the symbol represented.

Wade Eisenbeisz recently shared a link that included the symbol and the words "White Pride World Wide." The privacy setting on his Facebook page was public, meaning anyone could see the post.

Eisenbeisz tells the American News that he was unaware what the symbol represented. He says he only meant to show that he is proud to be white. He says there's nothing wrong with being proud of one's race.

The Anti-Defamation League says the symbol posted by Eisenbeisz is used by groups such as neo-Nazis. Eisenbeisz says his posting was "not a neo-Nazi thing."

He has deleted the post.
