On Saturday January 21, 2017 students from 12 different schools will be matching their wits in math and science as the 2017 South Dakota Science Bowl will take place at the Huron Event Center.

Schools participating include:

  • Brandon Valley
  • Centerville
  • Greater Sioux Falls Home School
  • Rapid City Central
  • Hitchcock-Tulare
  • Huron
  • Sioux Falls Lincoln
  • Rapid City Christian
  • Redfield
  • Sunshine Bible
  • Parker
  • Dakota Valley

First place team will win a free trip to the National Science Bowl in Washington, D.C., held April 27 - May 1 to take come the championship.

Competition begins at 8 a.m. in a round-robin format, followed by a double-elimination tournament at 1 p.m. with the championship round set for about 4 p.m. The awards ceremony will follow after that.
