2 Yankton Residents Die in Weekend Crash West of City

YANKTON, S.D. (AP) — Two Yankton residents died in a weekend crash on state Highway 52.

The Highway Patrol says 52-year-old Khuyen Nguyen was driving a car that drifted across the center line and into the path of a sport utility vehicle Sunday afternoon about 5 miles west of Yankton.

She and 39-year-old passenger Ryan Nguyen died at the scene. He was her son-in-law.

The two people in the SUV suffered injuries that the patrol says were serious but not life-threatening.
