The definition of a volunteer is, a person who performs a service, voluntarily, without pay. A volunteer willingly gives of their time, talents and heart to make someone else's life better, easier, perhaps less stressful or less painful, sometimes by a great deal.

Volunteering can be simple, but knowing where to start and where you might be needed most could be confusing. That problem has been voluntarily solved for you!

The Helpline Center whose mission is to make lives better by giving support, offering hope and creating connections all day, every day--is having a Volunteer Fair. Saturday, August 23rd from 9 am to noon at the Washington Pavilion you'll be able to discover hundreds of ways to give your time. They'll have hands-on service projects and volunteer booths, plus you'll have the chance to learn so much more about the local non-profits, almost all of which rely on volunteer help to survive and thrive.
