Woman Gets 6 Months for Mobile Meth Explosion in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A woman will spend at least six more months in jail for her involvement in a mobile meth lab that exploded in a vehicle as it drove along a Sioux Falls street.

Kristy Jeanee Wilker pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance. She was sentenced to five years of suspended time and three years of supervised probation.

JayJay Stanton Coronado was driving last July while he and Wilker made methamphetamine in a 20-ounce pop bottle. The meth lab exploded, burning both of them and setting the vehicle on fire.

Coronado lost sight in one eye as a result of the explosion. He was sentenced last month to five years in prison.

The Argus Leader reports Wilker's six-month jail sentence begins April 30.
