South Dakota Highway Patrol were dispatched to a call for a rollover accident just west of I-29 at the Canton exit around midnight Sunday night and found a Scion in the ditch and skid marks on the highway. What they didn't find was a driver.

The car has Minnesota license plates that were traced to a St. Paul resident who said their 29-year old nephew, Albert David Javers, who lives in Dell Rapids and "has a few legal problems", was driving the car.

Those issues include an active warrant in Minnehaha Country for Aggravated Assault.

The vehicle was heading west on Highway 18, when the driver over-corrected, causing it to go into the ditch and flip. Patrolmen found some traces of blood in the car, but have not located the driver as of Monday morning. They suspect he fled the scene due to the warrant and driving on a suspended license.

Javers was arrested Monday afternoon in Yankton County.
