There are some moments in life you just can't miss. One of those moments for me is watching my twin sister, Katie finally become a doctor.

Over the weekend, Katie received her veterinarian degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. She is officially Dr. Katherine Manika, DVM. She really did it! My twin sister is living her dream and is going to care for animals. There was no way in heck I was going to miss this momentous occasion for my sister.

I spent Mother's Day weekend with Katie, our dog, Honey, and family, all to celebrate Katie achieving her veterinarian degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. It was a wonderful ceremony from this outstanding Big 10 school. I've never been more proud of my sister! You can clearly tell from my cheers that I was not holding back. The funny part? I was so nervous for her! Maybe this was twin telepathy, but I had a million butterflies in my stomach. Nonetheless, she walked across the stage and was hooded! The person who hooded her is Dr. Matt Timmons. He has mentored Katie throughout her time studying in and out of the classroom. He is also a University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine graduate. They will now be working together at the Springbrook Animal Care Center in Naperville, Illinois.

Anyone who continues their education is always a milestone. Katie has worked incredibly hard for this moment. She deserves so much in life. Katie earned it! Congratulations, Katie and to the entire University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2023! Everyone is so very proud of you!
