Mother Nature can bring some intense weather in so many forms. From the devastating tornadoes that we saw here in South Dakota this summer, to hurricanes along the Gulf Coast, to a wall of snow that hit Buffalo, New York Tuesday.

The video above is a time lapse shot by a YouTube user from his 40th story office overlooking Lake Erie. I've seen thunderstorms roll across the prairie, and watched videos of tidal waves rolling in towards shore, but I have never seen a weather event like this video shows.

Over two feet of snow fell immediately from the storm and the mayor closed off traffic to South Buffalo as parts of the city could see up to six feet of snow from the storm.

Here in Sioux Falls the weather analysts are predicting a fairly average 3 1/2 feet of snow for the entire season. Six inches got things kind of messy around town this weekend. I can't imagine what six FEET of snow would look like or do to the city and here's hoping we never have to find out.
