Today kicks off a very important international day: #GivingTuesday. What does this mean? November 29 marks the start off the charitable season. Let’s give back!

#GivingTuesday is celebrated each year on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the most-popular shopping days of the year, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

Between now and the end of the year, many folks start to focus on ways they can give back to others and get involved in their own communities.

Fueled by the power of social media, the organizers of #GivingTuesday are hoping that people will spread the word using the powers of the internet.

Use the hashtag #GivingTuesday in order to promote charitable ideas or plans. Share your good deeds or collaborate with others who are interested in giving back in your community.

Giving back doesn’t always mean you have to provide money. Volunteering your time, ideas and passions can be just as good, if not better than monetary donations.

When we take a look at the numbers, last year over 700,000 people got involved in more than 70 countries.

We are so lucky to have the things we do, and now is the time to share with others.

Look for volunteering opportunities in your community. The #GivingTuesday website also allows you to search by state, and provides some recommendations of places you can volunteer at: Giving Tuesday: What's Happening Near Me
