Is Black Friday starting to lose some of its hype? Not if you ask my wife.

She is at T-minus 3-days and counting.

This year with a number of stores opening up on Thanksgiving Day now, it's starting to turn that holiday into GREY Thursday, especially if you have a family member that works retail and is forced to report to work on a day that should be reserved for spending with family and friends.

Speaking of Black Friday and all the hype associated with one of biggest shopping days of the year. I see the average discount on Black Friday this year will be 39.45%.

This is according to Wallethub.com. They analyzed the ads from 22 major stores and websites, including 5,525 total deals and came up with that number.

What it all means is, if you see something on sale for less than 40% off, it's not that great of a deal. However, should you run into an item for over 40% off on Black Friday, jackpot! You should immediately tackle the person holding the item, rip it from their hands, and run to the cash register with the speed of Carl Lewis in his prime.

I'm kidding! Do not do that! Unless you want to spend the remainder of your Black Friday in a nice, cozy, comfy, jail cell.

If you do plan on hoping into the melee that is Black Friday this year, the biggest deals will supposedly be found at JCPenny. They will feature the largest average discount, at 65%,

Other national chain stores with decent Black Friday discounts include: Macy's, Rite Aid, Meijer and Sears.

Costco will be offering the worst average discount, at just 21%. The other stores with less than stellar average Black Friday discounts are; Big Lots, Amazon, Best Buy and Walmart.

Happy shopping! Don't forget to get out there and support the local retailers in your community. They always have a ton of great deals waiting for you throughout the holiday shopping season.
