Taylor Swift Wins Five Teen Choice Awards, Including Choice Female Artist
Taylor Swift has yet another award to display in her trophy room. Last night (July 22) at the 2012 Teen Choice Awards, country music’s sweetheart beat out Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry and Adele when she was given a Teen Choice Awards’ surfboard for Choice Female Artist.
By now, the ‘Ours’ hitmaker is used to being showered with gold records, philanthropy awards and tons of music awards, but she seemed especially excited to be honored at the Teen Choice Awards this year.
“This is a really huge award and I’m so excited,” Swift said after Lea Michele of ‘Glee‘ and Tyler Posey of ‘Teen Wolf’ presented her with the giant surfboard. “I just feel so honored that I get to have you guys in my life. I’m so happy right now.”
Swift has had a mega successful year recording ‘Safe and Sound’ and ‘Eyes Open’ for ‘The Hunger Games’ Soundtrack. The award-winning songstress also used her talented voice in a new way by playing the voice of Audrey in ‘The Lorax.’
The 22-year-old country star thanked everyone who was involved in both movies, and then gave the Teen Choice Awards a shout-out for giving teens a platform to vote for their favorite celebs, movies, music and entertainment.
“Thank you Teen Choice for giving teens a chance to vote for something, because I love getting these!” she added.
Choice Female Artist wasn’t the only award she hauled home last night. The popular starlet also claimed Choice Single by a Female Artist for ‘Eyes Open,’ Choice Female Country Artist, Choice Country Song for ‘Sparks Fly,’ and Choice Movie Voice for Audrey in ‘The Lorax.’
Congrats to Ms. Swift on another bang-up awards night!
