YANKTON, S.D. (AP) — A storm that rolled through southeastern South Dakota on Sunday night brought dangerous lightning to the city of Yankton.

Deputy Fire Chief Larry Nickles tells the Associated Press that firefighters responded to three reported strikes.

He says witnesses saw lightning strike a tower on the Mount Marty College campus, though firefighters didn't find any damage. He says an apartment building that was struck also escaped damage, but a home in the city suffered minor damage in a lightning strike that felled a tree onto some power lines.
