Stack ‘Em Up. It’s Time For Pancake Days
Pass the syrup. It’s time for the 58th Annual Pancake Days.
Pancake Days, the Lion’s Club of Sioux Falls flagship event, started in 1957 at the Coliseum. The line stretched 2 ½ blocks and patrons lined up 4 deep. It took almost 2 hours to get served. They persevered with only 4 old cast iron grills. According to downtownsiouxfalls.com, Lion Al Schock invited Aunt Jemima to the event. She accepted the invitation and presented with a Black Hills Gold Key to the city.
Fast-forward to 2014, and the super-grills can can make 48 pancakes in three minutes.
