HURON, S.D. (AP) — The South Dakota State Fair has drawn to a close.

Monday's activities were themed around Poultry Party Day, though all live bird exhibitions were suspended due to the Avian Influenza outbreak earlier this year. The Dakota Provisions plant hosted a turkey sandwich feed, and those dressing up as Colonel Sanders received free gate admission.

Although many of the activities focused on fun and games, growers were invited to attend a more serious session on biosecurity and poultry health related to the influenza outbreak.
