During Friday's Police Briefing at the Law Enforcement Center, Sioux Falls Police Information Officer Sam Clemens provided an update on the arrest of two people suspected of selling meth in a house that operates as a day care.

"Well it was a trip that our drug detectives received. It was a really credible tip that there was meth in the house that is also a day care. Because there was children present, detectives moved pretty fast. We were able to get three kids out of the home that were being baby sat and then found about five grams of meth inside the house. We had two people arrested for that and all the kids were removed from the house."

Clemens says authorities believe meth was being used in the house.

"It sounds like it was separate from where the kids were. But, we believe there was meth being used and sold from that house."

The two arrested are facing various drug related charges.

In another incident, Clemens says an arrest has been made in connection with a recent stabbing in Sioux Falls.

"We had two guys that had some type of problem and altercation.  One stabbed the other in the neck. It was a pretty serious injury. The detective was able to do some follow up with the victim and found out who the suspect was. An arrest warrant was issued. On Thursday, the suspect was arrested for aggravated assault."

The suspect has been identified as 33-year-old John Sheffield of Sioux Falls.
