Calling all Sioux Falls poets! The Cathedral Historic District is partnering with Siouxland Libraries and Live Well Sioux Falls to provide an opportunity for you to put your stamp on this beautiful Sioux Falls district during the second annual Sidewalk Poetry Contest.

“This contest is designed to encourage and celebrate Sioux Falls’ poets of all ages, as well as to stimulate walking and neighborly chats in north-end neighborhoods,” explains Bev Oliver. Oliver, with her husband, Jim, co-chair the 2015 Sidewalk Poetry Contest committee. They have lived in the Cathedral Historic District for more than 20 years.

The Sidewalk Poetry Contest is open to all Sioux Falls residents. Contestants are asked to submit original poems through Siouxland Library website by 12:00 AM Midnight on Saturday, May 16, 2015.

Winning poems, one by an adult (ages 18 and older) and one by a youth (ages under 18), will be stamped into new sidewalk panels in the Cathedral Historic District or other northwest city sidewalks this summer.
