Glen Campbell was one of the great icons of country music. The singer left us back in August of 2017 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Campbell got his start in the music business as a studio musician but eventually became one of the most successful solo artists in country music history. His first big hit came back in 1965 with Universal Soldier. He continued his rise to fame with 1967s Gentle On My Mind, a song that won him four Grammy awards in the country and pop categories.

After scoring hits with Wichita Lineman and Galveston, Campbell became a legitimate superstar. He turned to the silver screen in the late '60s, starring alongside John Wayne in the Oscar-winning True Grit. The hits continued into the '70s, with songs like Rhinestone Cowboy and Southern Nights.

In honor of Glen Campbell's birthday, we've put together a list of some of our favorite songs below. Check them out!
