Rapid City Man Charged with Rape, Abuse in Infant Death

RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Authorities say a 26-year-old Rapid City man was arrested after an infant died of undisclosed injuries at a local hospital.

Rapid City police say Kristopher Houchin has been charged with first degree rape and child abuse.

It's is unclear if Houchin has an attorney.

Authorities say the baby died Friday afternoon. Hospital officials notified authorities that the baby's injuries were suspicious.

An autopsy is scheduled for early next week.
