PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — Two portraits of former Gov. Bill Janklow are being added to South Dakota's gallery of gubernatorial portraits at the Capitol in Pierre.

KCCR radio reports that a late-Friday unveiling was scheduled in the Capitol Rotunda. Current Gov. Dennis Daugaard, members of the Janklow family and Watertown artist Joshua Spies were attending.

Janklow had always resisted having his portraits hung in the Capitol. After he died last year, his family commissioned Spies to paint the two official portraits. One represents Janklow's first two terms as governor in 1979-1987. The second represents his final two terms in 1995-2003.

The portraits join those of 29 other South Dakota governors.
