Police say a Sioux Falls man had more than three pounds of marijuana in a backpack when he was arrested over the weekend on the city's east side.

Information Officer Sam Clemens says the Drug Task Force had alerted an officer about a vehicle that had been stopped in the 600 block of East 6th Street Sunday evening.

When the vehicle began moving, the officer began a pursuit, but the driver took off.

The officer located the vehicle after the driver crashed it into a house at First and Blauvelt and took off running, but he was located at First and Cliff.

Clemens says people in the First and Blauvelt area told an officer the man had tossed a backpack into a backyard, and when police retrieved it, they found it contained three large bags of marijuana, totaling 3.2 pounds.

Clemens says 24-year-old Ousman Mustafa Dibba of Sioux Falls was charged with aggravated eluding, hit-and-run, reckless driving, fleeing police, no driver's license, no proof of insurance, felony marijuana possession and possession with intent to distribute.
